Meeting--Tuesday, September 23, 2009

Lots of activities coming up:

1. October 4: Rotary Bar-B-Que--more workers may be needed.
2. October 11: Spagettit Dinner--donations for Christmas food baskets accepted as "ticket" for dinner--cash is always accepted but food items will also "buy" a dinner. Bob will be asking for volunteers to help on the 11th. He does not need any more pasta or lemonade.
3. December: Bell Ringing to support the Salvation Army as part of our effort to provide Christmas food baskets.

Questions from the Master of Arms will be from the newsletter. The questions are :

1. What is the meaning of the "Make Dreams" symbol?
2. What is the name of at least 1 rotary District 6690 club mentioned in the newsletter and what was their accomplishment?
3. What large item was featured in the Byesville Rotary picture and who are the three people in the picture?
4. How many clubs are in rotary District 6690 and how many are hosting exchange students?

Byesville Rotary Picnic--Sept. 21, 2008

We had a great picnic on Sunday. About half of the group showed up to take the 1:00 Byesville Scenic Railway tour. The volnteers at the Railway have extended the line about 2 miles. They hope to get all the way to Cumberland and the Wilds in a couple of years.

We had good food and good conversation at the picnic and more desserts than we could eat. Thanks to all the cooks and to Bob for arranging the beef and chicken. See the Slideshow (on the right) for some pictures of the activity.
