Byesville Rotary recognized
Bob Long, a long time club member, for his years of service to the community. InHe
was presented with a Service award plaque in recognition of his outstanding service
and dedication. In addition, club members donated $1000 to the Paul Harris
Foundation and presented Long with his 3rd Paul Harris Fellow pin.
Long served as president of
the club twice. He has been awarded a Paul Harris Fellow in 2005, 2008 and
2013. Byesville Rotary has chosen him a Rotarian of the year in 2000, 2003, and
2007.
Long is the moving force
behind the club’s annual Christmas Food Basket program. He organizes the food
basket sign up days and insures club members show up for bell ringing shifts. He
contacts local organizations for donations. Long also works with local
suppliers to insure the baskets include a turkey and fresh produce.
Dennis Harding, club
president stated, “Bob’s dedication to insuring the Christmas food basket is a
success exemplifies Rotary’s motto of ‘Service Above Self.’”
The club meets 7:30 am
every Tuesday at the Stop Nine Senior Center at 60313 (GPS use 60299) Southgate
Road, Byesville. Everyone interested in giving back to their community is
