Byesville Rotary members’
service project for December is helping Santa Claus provide gifts to local
kids. Members met for their annual Christmas breakfast. Members attending the
breakfast brought a covered dish for breakfast and gifts for kids. The gifts
will be donated to the Meadowbrook Interact club. Members of the Interact Club
as well as other Meadowbrook students have taken responsibility for providing
for Rolling Hills Angel Tree requests.
Another Byesville Rotary
tradition is to make a donation to the Secret Santa organization. This year the
club was able to make a $500 donation toward helping the Secret Santa
organization provide a Merry Christmas to local kids.
The club’s Breakfast with
Santa breakfast fundraiser was a big success this year. The club sold out and
ended the breakfast with only 1 bowl of pancake batter left. Santa Claus, Larry
Miller, the club’s master pancake maker, and Melinda Yerian, co-chair of the
event, were delighted with community support.
The club would like to thank all the local businesses that help make this
event a success. Make sure to give them a shout out the next time you are
there! Local sponsors included: McElroy Tree Services. Cambridge, Bruner Land
Company Byesville, Moore Bros Hardware Byesville, M&M
Feed and Supply Pleasant City and Old Washington, Patrons Buckeye Mutual
Insurance Cumberland, Howell-Craig Insurance Agency Cumberland, Creative T’s.
Byesville, Galaxy Pizza and Subs, Black-Epperson Funeral Home’s. Byesville, Old
Country Loft. Byesville, McDonalds (Byesville), Marlene’s Restaurant.
Byesville, Bi-Con. Derwent, and Basic Systems Cambridge.
Funds from Breakfast with
Santa are being used to supply food baskets to families in the Rolling Hills
School District and toys for local children.
The club’s next meeting is
Tuesday, December 18. Woody Biggs will be the guest speaker.
