Woody Biggs, representing the Stop Nine Church
of Christ, spoke to the Byesville Rotary about Stop Nine’s support of the Tim
TeBow Foundation “Night to Shine” event. Biggs explained that Stop Nine has
volunteered to become an official host church for 2019. This year “Night to
Shine” will be celebrated on February 8, at Pritchard-Laughlin. The event will
be limited to 150 guests.
“Night to Shine” will be a lot of fun. There
will be music and dancing: there will be food; there will be fancy dresses and
tuxedoes; there will be photographs, a red carpet, and special decorations. Biggs
stated the event will be a prom night experience for special needs people aged
14 and older.
Stop None also received a grant from the TeBow
Foundation to help cover expenses which are estimated at $10,000 for the event.
In addition, the TeBow Foundation provides support and materials to the event
host. These materials include: a planning manual, personalized guidance and
mentorship from a Tim Tebow Foundation staff member, and an Official Night to
Shine Prom Kit which includes special Night to Shine decorations, a red carpet,
Night to Shine Welcome Banner and table runners, as well as gifts and special
message card for the honored guests.
Byesville Rotary members voted to donate $500
to help defray expenses not covered by the TeBow grant. At this date, all
volunteer slots have been filled.
