Christmas 2019 with two important projects.
On December 21, the club
held their annual Breakfast with Santa.
The pancake breakfast features
complementary pictures with Santa with the purchase of breakfast. This project
is one of several fundraisers for the club. Funds are raised by the breakfast
and by donations from local businesses and individuals
.
Club members are grateful
for support from our corporate sponsors who generously donate and help make
this event possible every year. Sponsors included Howell-Craig Insurance Agency,
Bruner Land Co Inc., Basic Systems, Peoples Bank, Kerry
Inc., Moore Bros. Hardware, Patrons Buckeye Mutual Insurance, Bi-Con Services,
and McElroy Tree Service
.
Funds raised support the
club’s service projects which include donations to the Salvation Army’s summer
brown bag lunch and support for local food pantries as well as the annual
Christmas Food basket effort.
On December 21, the club also
distributed Christmas food baskets to families living in the Rolling Hills
School District. The 2019 program
was an incredible. The Byesville club led a community project supported by--in
addition to our fellow Rotarians—spouses, family members, and friends of club
members, and service minded organizations including the Mid-East Career Center
Interact Club, Byesville VFW, and Buckeye Trail Football players and coaches. Over
300 hours of community service were donated by club friends and supporters over
and above the times donated by Rotarians.
One hundred and ninety-eight
families received baskets this year. In addition, the club was able to donate
several cases of green beans and two food baskets to the Main Avenue UMC food
pantry and 6 turkeys to the Stop Nine Christmas dinner program
.
The food basket program received in-kind support from AVC
Communications / Reisbeck’s food drive, Colgate Palmolive, Cambridge Packaging,
T&J’s Market, Mid-East Career & Technology Center, Rolling Hills
Schools, Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and Kerry
Industries. Rotarians, families, friends, and supporters donated over 200
articles of clothing, household items, etc. for the give-away tables.
Byesville Rotary club members are thankful for our community’s generous
and continued support of this project.
